Air Vs Liquid Cooled Custom Computers
Air Vs Liquid Cooled Custom Computers
Yeah, we know, to most people putting liquid inside a computer usually sounds like the last thing you would want to do to it.
Crashmasters in Muskegon knows that a gamer wants a custom computer that is liquid cooled. And here’s why:
Typically most PC’s come with just a fan (or more if you have a high end video card and lots of processing power). They usually do a decent job, unless you want to use high-end hardware to have a faster running custom computer. Particularly for use as a Gaming PC.
Cooling with water is much more efficient than cooling with air. It works a lot like the cooling system on a car using the principle of thermodynamics. Which is simply the transfer of heat from one object to another that is cooler.
You can get a quick example of why liquid cooling works better than air cooling for a custom build computer by going to your freezer. Place your hand in the freezer without touching anything, then put your hand on the side or grab onto tomorrow night’s dinner. The physical contact with the colder object (rather than the air) made your hand cold faster.
Why do computers even get hot?
Computers generate heat as a byproduct of moving electrons around. The high-end microchips in a custom computer are full of electrical transistors, which are really just electrical switches that switch between on and off. As they do this, electricity moves around in the microchip. The more transistors a microchip contains, the faster it switches on and off, and the hotter it gets. And if it gets too hot, it will fail.
This is why it’s extremely important to have higher grade cooling systems in custom build computers. And Crashmasters of Muskegon can install a liquid cooling system into your custom computer. Contact us now for a custom computer package! 231-773-7673
